Noclegi w Kołobrzegu

Kołobrzeg opis: Jest to jedno z najstarszych miast w Polsce, o burzliwych i fascynujących dziejach. Ocalałe zabytki są świadectwem bogatej historii. Nazwa Obecna nazwa miejscowości została ustalona po wojnie. Wcześniejsza, niemiecka wersja nazwy Altstadt (co dosłownie oznacza „Stare Miasto") przypominała, że to miejsce było kolebką Kołobrzegu. Pochodzenie nazwy nie jest jednoznaczne. Pewnym jednak jest, że jest to nazwa czysto pomorska (słowiańska). Geneza nazwy związana jest z dwoma rzeczownikami: "kół" - pal, słup i "brzeg", połączonych samogłoską „o". Oznacza to zatem gród (osadę) otoczony kołami, czyli palisadą (częstokołem), leżącą przy brzegu rzeki, tutaj Parsęty. Taki słowiański, przedlokacyjny Kołobrzeg z początków XIII wieku, można zobaczyć na obrazie w Muzeum Oręża Polskiego. Nazwa Kołobrzeg została po raz pierwszy zapisana w dokumentach przez kronikarza niemieckiego, Thietmara z Merseburga, kiedy to cesarz Otto III wraz z Bolesławem Chrobrym ustalili arcybiskupstwo w Gnieźnie (w 1000 r.) i podległą mu diecezję w Kołobrzegu. Jest to jedno z najstarszych miast na Pomorzu Zachodnim, które istniało już w VIII w. - funkcjonował tu gród obronny słynny na całe Pomorze (pierwotna lokalizacja na terenie dzisiejszej wsi Budzistowo). W 1000 r. król Bolesław Wielki założył tu biskupstwo, które jednakże rychło podupadło. W XIII w. Kołobrzeg dostał się pod kuratelę biskupów kamieńskich, ponadto po śmierci Bolesława Krzywoustego (1138 r.) przeszedł pod zwierzchnictwo cesarza niemieckiego (później króla Danii). W 1255 r. miastu przyznano prawa miejskie, było centrum warzelnictwa (do czego odniesienie znajduje się w herbie miasta), handlu oraz rybołówstwa. W 1830 r. powstał pierwszy zakład kąpieli solankowych. W 1859 r. powstało połączenie kolejowe Kołobrzegu ze Szczecinem i Gdańskiem. Szybki rozwój uzdrowiska nastąpił po roku 1872.
